Office365 users could lose connection to Outlook

September 29, 2017

On October 31, 2017, Exchange Online mailboxes in Office 365 will require connections from Outlook for Windows to use MAPI over HTTP.  Outlook for Windows clients that use RPC over HTTP (for example, Outlook 2007) will be unable to access Exchange Online mailboxes.  Read Microsoft’s support article.

If your organization doesn’t update by Oct. 31, it means…

  • Outlook 2007 users will no longer be able to connect to Office 365.
  • Outlook 2010 users can connect only if versions meet or exceed build number 14.0.7164.5002.
  • Outlook 2013 users can connect only if versions meet or exceed build number 15.0.4779.1002.
